it's great when love wins...

Black Bazill card base, Rager Distress watercolor paper "tie dyed" with Distress inks. The sentiment is Studio Calico and Heidi Swapp colored in Ikea glitter pens. I added a few sequins on the bottom.

Today I am sharing a card that I made to celebrate an event, a homecoming of sorts. I will share the story and then the card.

My friend is married to a wonderful Scottish man. However, until recently their marriage was not recognized by the US which meant that my friend was unable to sponsor his husband to come live with him. And then on June 26, 2013, DOMA was repealed. Hooray! They began the process of getting an immigration visa to allow man and husband to live together in Seattle. It has taken 18 months and he will arrive on Thursday, January 29, 2015. AT LAST!

To celebrate the occasion, i made them this card:

I am happy with the way this card has come out. It is cheery and (I hope) welcoming. I mailed it on Monday, so I am hoping it arrives before this post is seen.

until next time... mel xoxo
